What is the importance of Badrinath Dham for The Hindu?
Lord Vishnu is referred as ‘Badri’ in many sacred books of Hinduism. Badrinath Dham is known to be the home of Lord Vishnu. As per Skand Puran, in 8 AD, Adiguru Shankaracharya recovered the idol of Lord Badrinath from Narad Kund. He later constructed the temple and placed the idol here.
In other hand Badrinath Dham also mentioned in Vamana Purana. The fifth avatar of Lord Vishnu, Nar & Narayana sages perform penance here. Other mythology is that Pandavas with Draupadi visited the place during their last pilgrimage to Swargarohini.
